Previously I have attempted to control my Internet and TV addiction and failed.

This time I am going to take a slightly different approach. I am going to make a two week commitment, but I am not going to over commit myself. I am going to take baby steps for two weeks. After that, I can make a new commitment.

Here are the things that I am going to do:

  1. Morning Prayer
  2. Drink Glass of Water
  3. Stretch
  4. 3 sets of 25 girl push ups, and 30-20-10 crunches
  5. Breakfast
  6. Meditation (3 minutes)
  7. Journaling
  8. Drink Glass of Water
  9. Night Prayer

This is not a lot. But this means a lot to me. I think the reasons that I’ve failed in the past were that I expected too much from myself. As you can tell this is not a hard commitment. For example step number four, I am committing to doing girl push ups. Four years ago I was a Marine who could run three miles in 20 minutes, do 30 pull ups, and over 100 push ups. Now I have to do sets of girl push ups. But that is life. Use it or lose it principle keeps on working no matter what I think about it.

I am going to take the small steps, and I am going to keep on taking them for the next two weeks, no mater what. My prediction is that this way I will be able to build up my confidence level, and will be able to follow through on the larger commitments in the future.
