Ode to Porn Read by Porn Addiction Coach Craig

By Feed the Right Wolf Coach Craig Perra

Hi everyone, I’m  Craig, the Official Recovery Coach for Feed the Right Wolf and thanks for watching the video. What did you think? Pretty powerful isn’t it?

If you didn’t watch it, it’s me reciting a poem about porn written by one of my clients.

I also talk about “action” in the video and why “action” is so important if you want to stop abusing porn – I talk a lot about “action” in my work with clients; I say the word over and over again because it represents something very powerful for me. Bruce Lee said, “if you spend too much time thinking about a thing, you’ll never get it done” – true for me. The only way to break a habit is to make a habit and, therefore, “Action”, is mission critical.

“Action” for my clients comes out in bunch of very cool places. Some clients embrace long forgotten talents, and others find new ones. Some clients are blogging on the web site, some are painting, writing music, and one client, we’ll call him Steve, found poetry, and he wrote this ODE TO PORN that I’m going to recite for you. It touches me because I can really hear Steve’s mourning over his loss of innocence when porn slipped into his very young life.

Here it is:

Ode to Porn

You entered my life

Without invitation

Into the mind of a child

Where love was vulnerable

You started to grow

You tried to take root

I was asleep

You fed on the darkness

The pain inside blossomed

You were proud

You thought you had hijacked the host…me

But you didn’t know

That the pain would become your worst enemy

That your pride was revealing the monster inside

You left my inner world unexplored for years

You made it seem like a barren land

But it is a fertile oasis

And you are sorry and sad in comparison

Porn, I know you feel unappreciated

After all

I’m sure there were times when you thought you were helping me

But how about being unable to show up with a real woman?

Is that helping me?

Seriously?

You don’t deserve a negotiation

You don’t deserve time to make your case

You deserve to be discarded . . . you deserve to die

Else you go and infect another young and impressionable soul

You have no place in my life

No role to play

So hit the road jack.,.and don’t you come back

Unless you want to be stepped on and squished

One billion times harder than you tried to squish me

In fact consider yourself squished

That is how little remorse I have for you

Pure evil

Merciless

You don’t even deserve my pity

3…2…1…

SQUISH!

Who’s left?

I can hear someone still here

Who are you?

It’s OK…it’s safe for you to come out now…

The monster is gone

There’s no monster under the bed or in the closet

There never was

Love?

Is that you?

It must be…you feel so warm and honest and sincere and safe

Your energy feels so good circulating in the energy field of my body

Bliss…
