Gretel...it's great to have you here. You are not alone and among addicts all on the path to recovery. Every day when you first start is a struggle. Then you'll have some good days and then back to the stuggle again. At least that has been my exerpience so far. Beingclean offered some great advice...keep coming back and reading others posts even if you don't post yourself. You will get ideas and suggestions on different ways to address your addiction. Everyone has a different approach and you will find yours.

Stay strong my friend!

I was just about to act out but I managed to save myself. There is so much wonderful gifts in life I want to enjoy fully without the shadow of being addicted hunting me .It is crazy sometimes and hopeless another but I have good days too. The thrill of acting out is so short and the damaging horrible feeling that It leave behind last so long.
WRong believes that kept me trapped:
1- what does it matter to resist this time I am addicted and I will surely act out later
TRUTH: every time I resist Does matter , every good thouth I have is important , every little baby step that I take will eventually get me out of this swamp .It is wonderful that I fighted the bad wolf and won this time.

Hi Gretel
Have you got some books to read about this problem?
Then there are books on addictions, bad habits, rewiring your brain.
Have you got any of these?
Peter

I haven't got alot of books about the problem only the recovery course and online articles.whenever I start reading about the addiction I feel upset and uneasy and find any excuse to stop reading and do something else
