For a 15 yo you have wisdom beyond your years. Hi my 'recovery name' is clearskycoming. CSC.
I am almost old enough to be your grandfather. If I had a word of advice for you after starting
my addictive journey when I was 15 years old it would be this.

YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT IN EVERY WORD YOU WROTE ABOVE.

Give it everything you're got. I am extremely excited to see you here and encourage you
to keep journeying with us. We all have lots to learn and I will watch with great interest
your posts. Good for you Banlee.

Welcome, Banlee.

I'm glad that you had the courage to post here. If you can work on this now when you're young, you're a few steps ahead of other people (addicts and non-addicts). Keep coming back; when you help others you help your self, and vice versa.

Your friend,
Absolution.

Well day 4 and it feels great. Today I was extremely tempted. I did the breathing techniques then got into public as soon as possible. It was great. The rush I got from overcoming it was so much better than the rush I get from porn. I look at my diet today and it is very messed up. I mean I work a fiscally demanding job and I would concider my self in great shape but I eat yea to much junk food. So I am going to start watching what I eat. Once again thank you for all your support. With out this web site I would have screwed up today. Thank you.

Hey Banlee,

How are you going today? I am thinking about you and want to encourage you to "press on" my friend!
I'm glad to hear, you are taking control one day at a time. Well done!

Well another day down. I feel so much more happy now. My self convidance is so much better than It has ever been. It's not so much the time I have gone longer than this, but it's being able to look my problem in the eyes and tell it it has no more control over my actions. I am glad that I didn't keep going with my problem for I know that it would be much harder to overcome acouple years into it. How long before the temptations really die down?

Welcome Banlee
You are so right. You do not want to let porn get the better of you!
If I can ask, have you spoken to your parents about this?
It really helps to have some support from others that know you.

Welcome to the board Banlee. You have great courage and wisdom for someone your age. I am 3 times your age and am just coming to grips with this addiction. I salute you for identifying this issue and the desire to stop it before it takes over your life. Read all of Alex's literature and do the exercises. They have been a great help for me, people on this board and will be for you.

Keep posting...we are here to help!

Congrats Banlee on making this decision, you don't know how lucky you are to start recovering now than in your 20s or 30s. For me, it was between the ages of 16-22 that I really got addicted, and all of repetitive usage has made it really hard to quit. So it's great that you have started now.

Also, it is possible that some of your friends will wonder why you are giving up porn, saying that it is a stupid thing to do since porn is "harmless" and fun. But let the stories on this site (and elsewhere) be a reminder that it is far better to avoid porn completely. When people ask me and I don't have time to explain everything, I just say "I find porn kinda boring, I'd just rather spend my time doing other things."

And it's true--I really do enjoy using my time to do other, healthier, and more fun activities.
