To Dpac – I know that I can’t fight the desire because it’s impossible to win the fight , but I can refrain from the realization of the desire and here is my combat. I don’t want to concentrate on my P/M problem either, I want to concentrate on my relationship to God and on the realization of His words and on completely trust in Him. And that all can’t be realized without effort.

To Absolution – You were right two months ago, it’s not a good idea to set a day when you can act out and to postpone gradually this day. I tried this method and can say now – it has a lot of disadvantages – the greatest one is – it’s not working and it’s contrary to human nature – it’s as a play with nitroglycerine.
I’ve understood I must stop it once and for all as an alcoholic because when I once act out it will be very probable that I’ll come back to my addiction and more I will have to catch up the sober period. It will be like a bursting dam – the more sober days ( accumulated water ) the bigger and longer binge.

Well it's never too late. The good thing is you're much more stronger and motivated about your recovering now than what you were before. Well it's all about "more yu feed the more yu need" game. I am having hard time these days keeping myself strong and motivated. I don't know why I am being so vulnerable. But reading other's posts and their motivational quotes injects a new energy in me. Hope you're doing great. Good luck for your recovery.

Mombasa, I am glad you are making the right choice in how to deal with your addiction. The hardest choice is the one that God usually wants us to make, because it is the right choice. Keep it up. Things take time and effort. Just as it has taken time and effort to wean myself from the crap that is p/m it is taking that same time and effort with my wife. Things are getting very slowly better. God is taking his time to do things right. I am still a long way off from getting back together, but I am positive that it will happen. Just as I am positive that I am defeating my addiction.

You can do the same thing. Have faith and stay positive.

Hi Flit and Ineedhelp,

To Flit - the only way to get out from the P/M addiction is to fight to blood, to pain and in pain. We have to accept our cross ( and a huge part of our cross, pain is to bear it - i.e. not to look for the relief connected to acting out ).
Every act of P/M is like throwing our cross out and when one throws their cross out , they aren't worthy of Christ. So we have to fight in pain to blood. The pain doesn't matter, it has to be. Escape from pain is impossible here, we have to live with it and accept it ( accept our cross )

To Ineedhelp - thanx for your words, your way of quitting P/M is my pattern now.

Your resolve is honest and I don't want to take you away from your enthusiasm. I just want to encourage you to read the Gospels. Jesus has a lot to say about following him. A human being should have a healthy fear of hell because there is only two paths to follow. The high road or the low road. The low road is not really an option. The devil and demons will do anything to get you on the path on the low road. ANYTHING! Nothing is beneath them because they hate all of us. We are so arrogant, ignorant and stupid that their job is easy. We make it easy for them. When you think about where you are going and how short life is compared to eternity, the high road becomes easier. Being loving and caring like Jesus is the only option.

The only option is the true love in whole life , trying to make every choice according to Jesus' words. Making such good choices in everyday life is the same like being loving and caring like Jesus because accomplishing God's words is true love. Day 5

Hi guys,

Today is day 8. So I've accomplished one week. I know every another day will be more difficult. The tension and craving will increase and the desire too but I'm not afraid. I expect them with joy and mobilization to fight as if before an important boxing contest. Failer is not an option. My only option is to win the approaching contest. Armed with the power from prayer, gospel and the power of my determination to fight regardless of pain and effort , I have only one way out - to win. Failer is not an option!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good job, Mombasa. 8 days is a very good start. I am glad that you are staying positive. Work hard at it and it will get easier. Just remember to not get complacent. Find good, healthy ways to deal with stress/triggers.
