Hi,

Ever since I stopped watching porn, women look better than they did before and also I am less sleepy.. I didn't get one drop of sleep last night and I was very tired and confused at work.

Not sure how to relax and meditation doesn't do the trick.

I am not getting any dates :/

Not enough sleep makes things harder not impossible.

Keep it going. Meditation is like exercise for you mind. Every time you try is exercise. When it's hard is when brain muscle is being built.

Women look better because our brain does not compare them to pornstars and photoshopped pics and vids. I have the same problem at the moment and had it for the past 27 days I have been sober. When we masturbate our sexual desires are full filled and our brain does not care about other women. However when we do not act out our body looks at the natural ways of releasing. I believe that this might slowly deminish as we strengthen our self control but dont expect it to go away completely. It is our natural and basic feelings that have kept humanity from insitinction.

As for sleep, normally masturbation has a calming effect on the body and causes someone to feel sleepy afterward. It also makes the person tired. We feel like sleeping when we are tired. So you can replace masturbation with exercise to make your body get tired and sleepy. Of course exercise strengthens you physically and mentally as well.

So my suggestions for you is to get onto an exercise plan, ( might even impress the ladies) and possibly try to not stare at girls around you as much as possible. I always remember that there is no point n looking because first it will only hurt me and increase my urges and secondly because I will probably never get to talk or know the girl.

Hi Elbowroom.

Been a bit since I've been here, but wanted to chime in on this.

I've found that about the only way I get to sleep at night without a sexual release is to use sleep aids. I'm not talking prescription drugs, here, just gentle OTC stuff that gives my body a nudge in the right direction. Chronic sleep disruption is a major strain on one's body.

Personally, I recommend an herbal tea (chamomile, Sleepy Time, etc.,) or even warm milk with honey. Low dose melatonin (1mg or so) a couple of hours before sleep is also very helpful for me personally, dirt cheap, and readily available. Benadryl works in the short term but I don't recommend it long term or even more than a couple of nights in a row. The next level beyond tea and melatonin is probably Valerian Root or similar herbal sleep aids, also cheap and readily available OTC.

Just my 2c. I'm an MD but not a sleep doc or even primary care, so this is mostly my personal experience talking. Good luck.
